A white-label lending workflow for small business loans, designed for community banks and credit unions still relying on phone, fax, and email-heavy processes.
Project Notes
After losing $80,0000+ on a failed in-house custom development project, I led the design and development of an MVP small business loan app for a group of Credit Unions.
After discovery calls with lenders, I mapped a proposed solution and timeline for the RFP, then met with the people who would use the app to define what borrowers and lenders needed to approve or deny small business loans under $250,000.
I led breakout sessions to journey map each credit union's process, identifying what worked, where the workflow broke down, and where the product could standardize the experience without removing necessary lender flexibility.
After consolidating the research, I mapped a standardized architecture for engineering and began designing the borrower and lender experience.
Because the product would be white-labeled and many customers were not highly technical, I created a clean UI that could be customized with lender logos and colors through CSS variables.
